The Premise

A guy dies in 2019 after awakening some mystery talent, then wakes up a century later in a 15-year-old’s body with the worst cultivation talent possible. In the year 2119, Earth is overrun with beasts, guns are useless because of a strange energy called Qi, and everyone’s future depends on inborn talent. The boy whose body he took died of heartbreak after a Talent Stone told him he had “weak” talent, which means he can never even become a martial warrior. Ye Tian also inherits a small sister, Ye Yu, and parents who were killed by beasts a year ago, and the money is running low.

The Protagonist & Stakes

Ye Tian’s hidden ability lets him see talents within three meters and copy them by touch, but only once a month, and merging a copied talent hurts like his body is about to burst. He swaps his weak talent for Chen Dong’s medium cultivation talent by pushing into a crowd of autograph seekers, then grabs a speed talent from a dying Silver Moon Mink, and later takes Li Yunxing’s intermediate swordsmanship talent through a friendly handshake. Since he can’t afford to look too talented, he lies to his friend Zhang Bao about how many body-forging moves he’s learned and signs a life-and-death contract for a dangerous academy trial. He hides everything from Ye Yu, telling her it’s a three-day school activity.
