Chapter 911: Chapter 293: Cheng Long’s Legacy, Life Restart! (Part 2)

Liu Bi watched quietly from the side, catching Cheng Ye’s gaze and offered an encouraging look.

Cheng Ye took a deep breath, reached out to grab a corner of the canvas, and gently pulled it aside.

The canvas scraped against the metal shell with a soft “sshhh” sound, dust falling with the movement of the fabric, creating a fine mist in the dim light.

As the canvas gradually slipped away, the big guy underneath finally revealed its true form.

This was not an ordinary armored vehicle, but more like a heavily modified off-road beast!

The body was entirely constructed from matte black alloy panels, devoid of any extra painting, only showing two large watermark anti-counterfeit letters “GL” at specific angles.

“Is this vehicle completely made of Isolation Alloy?”

Cheng Ye froze in place, stunned by the astonishing use of high-cost Isolation Alloy to construct an entire vehicle.

Its height far exceeded two meters, with an even more exaggerated width. The wheels were twice the size of ordinary off-road tires, the heavy tread deep and sharp, seemingly capable of crushing any obstacle with ease.

The front indeed featured a metal ram, the huge bumper also made of Isolation Alloy, with several thick anti-collision beams welded onto it, and hidden towing hooks even visible at the front.

Large metal footboards were fitted on both sides of the vehicle, with windows made extremely small and of deep-black bulletproof glass, leaving the internal structure completely obscured from outside view.

The roof had no unnecessary decoration, only a row of high-powered searchlights mounted upfront, encased in thick metal shells, exuding a rugged industrial feel of toughness and durability.

The rear outline was equally wide, with a spare tire hanging on the bumper. The tire was size-matched with those on the vehicle body, several metal toolboxes fixed next to it, though the markings on the boxes were barely visible, worn by time.

Cheng Ye walked slowly around the vehicle, unable to resist reaching out to touch its body. The icy hard sensation coursed through his fingertips, stirring an uncontrollable surge of excitement within him.

Now, that’s what you call a truly magnificent beast to drive out!

With such a monster at hand, one could roam freely through infection surges, come and go unaided!

“Brother Long invested heavily in crafting this during the era of great expansion.”

Liu Bi approached, fumbling a key from his hand, his tone carrying a reminiscent note, “Originally intended to facilitate faster and safer travel between the frontlines and Happiness City, but no one foresaw that era ending overnight, leaving this vehicle idle ever since.”

“In the early years, it occasionally went out for winter raids once or twice, but later it was simply parked in the inspection station’s garage, unattended for years. I brought it back here, maintaining it once every year or so, ensuring it didn’t fall into complete disrepair.”

He handed over the key: “Want to give it a try?”

Cheng Ye nodded, accepted the key, and inserted it into the keyhole on the driver’s door.

He gently turned it twice, the door’s security locks releasing with a click, revealing a design employing double-locking and reinforced hinges, maximizing safety!

He then pulled outwards, the heavy door opening with a low humming sound, the hinges turning without the slightest looseness or creaking.

Liu Bi had evidently been meticulously maintaining this vehicle, so much so that despite being stored in the garage away from sunlight, the interior still smelled “fresh” with lubricant, without any hint of mildew or rust.

The visibly accessible areas inside were wrapped in a dark red leather material, feeling warm and substantial, dispelling the coldness of the metal body.

The control console upfront was a single pressed metal plate, devoid of any flashy screens, only lined with rows of neatly arranged physical buttons, the keycaps engraved with straightforward markings, making everything clear at a glance.

The steering wheel stood robust and thick, covered in anti-slip rubber on the exterior, devoid of complex multifunction buttons, only embedded with a simple metal car emblem:

A large “Long” character!

Bold and forceful, exuding undeniable dominance.

“To prevent battery explosion, all critical circuits and energy storage areas are wrapped in Fiery Fire Deer hide, ensuring that even sitting on a pile of fire won’t burn through this layer of skin.”

Liu Bi leaned in, pointing to the dark red leather material, “However, once this vehicle was manufactured, it was found to be exceptionally heavy, and considering that Generation One batteries could only power it for 150 kilometers at full charge, the range proved insufficient, eventually converting it into a fuel vehicle.”

“Yet, fuel is also scarce in Happiness City, regarded as strategic assets, but the interior still retains battery slots, making retrofitting into a hybrid or purely electric vehicle relatively straightforward.”

Energy drive indeed presents a formidable challenge.

Even replacing with Happiness City’s latest Generation Three batteries might still fail to power this estimated four to five-ton behemoth for long-distance travel.

But Cheng Ye’s attention was not on the energy supply; his gaze swept across the control console and finally settled on the button labeled “machine gun”:

“What is this?”

“You’ll know by trying it in the backseat.” Liu Bi’s face finally revealed a trace of a smile.

The armored vehicle was configured with an 8-seat 6+2 layout, the interior space extremely spacious, especially the purposely reserved independent operational seat in the middle, secured with a four-point harness fixed to the metal frame, clearly designed for combat.

Cheng Ye opened the rear door and sat inside, Liu Bi leaned forward and pressed the machine gun button.

Crunch.

No reaction.

“Oh, forgot to power it up, I’ll go connect the power source.” Liu Bi slapped his forehead, hurriedly pulling over a power strip from the warehouse corner, then opened the hood to bypass the battery and directly connect to an external power source.
